As someone with natrually curly hair I understand the everyday struggles comes with it. Some days it’s easy to style and other days it’s like your hair has a mind of its own. Overtime I learned how to better manage my hair with these tip and tricks:
Drying your hair with a terry cloth towel can cause frizz and damage to your hair. When you use a microfiber towel it creates less friction on your hair.
You should wash your hair at least once a week. Washing your hair every day can strip your hair of its natural oils and make it difficult for your hair to retain moisture.
Conditioning your hair keeps it healthy and hydrated.
Heat damage, especially over a long period can destroy your curls’ natural pattern, causing brittleness and breakage.
When you toss and turn during the middle of the night it causes friction which creates frizz on your hair. Using satin pillowcases helps smooth your hair instead of agitating them like cotton pillowcases.
When you comb from the top to the bottom it makes it easier to detangle your hair.
Sectioning your makes styling your hair easier and helps with adding the right amount of product.
To prevent your hair from flattening in the middle of the night and to help preserve your curls use the “pineapple” method.
When you don’t have enough time to let your hair air dry you can diffuse it, with a blow dryer attachment called a diffuser that releases air while dying to prevent frizz.
Detangling your hair with your fingers can be gentler than using a brush or comb.
When your hair is wet it’s easier to detangle and spray bottles are also helpful when you want to freshen up your hair.
To keep your hair healthy and avoid getting split ends you should trim your ends every so often.
